Strengthening the Stakes
Over the years, Cedar Campus has been blessed with a solid ministry that includes excellent programs, a committed Christian staff, and wonderful facilities and cabins. Under the guidance of dedicated Christian leadership, it has grown from its humble beginnings in 1954 to more than 50 buildings located on 500 beautiful acres along the shores of Lake Huron. Annually more than 5,000 people enjoy the programs and facilities. It is what we call a “Good Tent.” However, many of the facilities are decades old, and have served thousands of guests. The "tents" (cabins and buildings) are still very good. They just need some attention. They need to have their “stakes strengthened.”
Our "Strengthening the Stakes" campaign is Phase II of the Cedar Campus Master Plan. It is an intentional focus on the existing facilities and a desire to address everything that needs fixing - from rugs to roofs and from drain fields to décor. Our overall goal is twofold – to enhance our facilities, and to reduce distractions. A leaky roof, a noisy furnace, uncomfortable furniture, or drafty windows can distract from a good conversation, a reflective Biblical exposition, and even prevent “being still and hearing God’s still small voice.”
As you can imagine, this means we have lots of exciting construction and renovation projects happening! Check back here frequently for updates.
